Multi-fiber connector with expanded beam has been developed by fusion splicing of GRIN lens and SMF fiber. This new connector reduced the increase in average insertion loss after dust test to 0.35 dB and made it possible to reduce the increase in average connection loss to 0.06 dB by air blow cleaning.
