Shaping Factor Detuning for Optimized Phase Recovery in Probabilistically-Shaped Systems

Abstract

We propose to optimize the phase recovery performance in probabilistically-shaped systems by detuning the shaping factor of the Maxwell-Boltzmann distribution. The results indicate tangible gains in the mutual information without increasing complexity.
