Reduced Crosstalk, Polarization Insensitive Fiber Optical Parametric Amplifier (PI FOPA) for WDM Applications

Abstract

We demonstrate a novel PI FOPA architecture with up to 11.5dB reduction of WDM crosstalk over a conventional scheme when amplifying 22 channels at 10dB to 20dB net gain. Noise figure is increased by ≤1.5dB.
