Demonstrating Network-scale Gain Transient Impact of Multiple Series EDFAs in Link Failure Cases

Abstract

This paper identifies that a link failure causes temporal QoT degradation propagation of 40.2% existing paths in a whole network by conventional EDFA and experimentally demonstrates this transient degradation can be suppressed by burst-mode EDFA.
