A Novel Post-Probabilistically-Shaped PAM Signaling as a Channel Coding for Efficient Optical Communications

Abstract

We propose a novel post-probabilistically-shaped PAM as a simple channel coding being applicable to optical communication systems with SD-FEC. It directly controls the distribution and achieves 0.52 dB required SNR reduction with 4% incremental overhead.
