Abstract

Duobinary-PAM3 enables up to 37.5Gb/s with 10G receivers. It has less linearity requirements on transmitters and gains 2dB sensitivity compared to equal-bitrate PAM8. In a 10G flexible modulation scheme, DB-PAM3 enables 190% network utilization increase.
