Coupled 2-LP 6-core EDFA with 125 μm cladding diameter

Abstract

We demonstrate a cladding-pumped 2-LP mode coupled 6-core EDFA with a 125-μm cladding diameter. A differential mode-core gain of less than 4-dB and a 6.5-dB average noise figure are successfully achieved in the C-band.
