Investigation of Optical Impacts on Virtualization using SDN-enabled Transceiver and Optical Monitoring

Abstract

We propose a scheme to introduce real-time optical layer monitoring into optical network virtualization enabled by software defined networking. The optical layer factors that impact the virtualization are characterised and investigated using this scheme experimentally.
