Broadband Bidirectional Vertical Grating Coupler

Abstract

We have designed and fabricated a bidirectional vertical grating coupler, with a simulated coupling efficiency of -2.1dB and 3-dB bandwidth of 112nm, and a measured coupling efficiency of -3.9dB and 3-dB bandwidth of 104nm.
