Multi Rate IMDD Transceivers for Optical Interconnects Using Coded Modulation

Abstract

We report on the potential of coded modulation to enable capacity transport optimization for short-reach interconnects. Using 2D-coded formats we demonstrate single wavelength 25Gb/s-granularity multi-rate transmission over distances ranging from 2 to 5 km.
