Abstract

An exponential companding method cooperating with Volterra filtering is proposed and demonstrated to substantially improve data rate by 52.5% in a 53.3-Gbps 60-km OFDM LR-PON with 30-dB loss budget based on 10-GHz EAM and PIN.
