Optical Label Switching based Add-Drop Multiplexer for Low Latency and High Performance Metro Networks

Abstract

We propose a novel optical label switching OADM prototype with nanoseconds reconfiguration and power-equalization time. System demonstration shows dynamic add/drop operation with <110µs (40km-ring) average delivery time, 1E-6 packet-loss for 0.4 load and 16-packet buffer.
