Reducing Nonlinear Distortion in Optical Phase Conjugation using a Midway Phase-Shifting Filter

Abstract

The performance of optical phase conjugation (OPC) is improved by splitting the nonlinear element and inserting a phase-shifting filter. The maximum signal quality increases by 1.2 dB for 800-km 4-QAM 224-Gb/s CO-OFDM.
