Cost Tradeoffs in Converged Metro Networks Designs

Abstract

The cost structure of converged packet-oriented metro aggregation networks is evaluated. Hierarchical Layer-2/Layer-3 architectures are shown to have better CAPEX structure than Flat networks models but topology and traffic volumes may justify other point solutions.
