Novel Equalizer Architecture for Hitless Rate Switching in Energy-Efficient Optical Systems

Abstract

We propose a novel equalizer architecture for hitless rate switching in energy-efficient optical systems. Power savings are achieved by rate reduction under low client traffic. The equalizer architecture is experimentally validated in a 100G system.
