Abstract

We present a coherent single-carrier system with optimized channel estimation and low-complexity fractionally-spaced frequency-domain equalizer. The concept is experimentally demonstrated for QPSK and 16-QAM systems to enable substantial overhead and complexity reduction without performance degradation.
