Highly Efficient Data Aggregation on Single Optical Carrier through Fiber Frequency Conversion of Discrete Multi-Tone Signal

Abstract

We propose an efficient data aggregation through optical frequency conversion of discrete multi-tone (DMT) signals. We demonstrate distributed multiplexing of four DMT signals with BPSK to 128QAM, and achieve total 29.2-Gb/s data-multiplexing within 6-GHz bandwidth.
