Abstract

Silica-LiNbO3 hybrid integration has opened up the possibility of synthesizing advanced transmitters, including dual-carrier 16 QAM modulators and flexible-format modulators. They can provide the best mix of optics and electronics, and are the key to future optical transport systems.
