All-optical Wide-area Node Connections Assisted with Optical Parametric Regeneration and Wavelength Conversion

Abstract

Characteristics of all-optical node connections with an optical regenerator and wavelength converter are studied. The reachability of 43-Gb/s commercial transponders is extended by the optical regenerator compensating the spectral narrowing due to WSS cascade.
