Using SBS Loop for Extinction Ratio Enhancement and Flatness Improvement in Optical Comb Generation

Abstract

We demonstrate improvement in optical comb characteristics using a stimulated Brillouin scattering fiber loop. A 25-dB extinction ratio enhancement together with a 4-dB flatness improvement are achieved. The output extinction ratio reaches 38 dB.
