Chirp Removal from Directly Modulated Laser Signals by Two-Stage Fiber Cross-Phase Modulation

Abstract

A novel chirp removal method by two-stage fiber cross-phase modulation is proposed and successfully demonstrated for 10/40-Gb/s signals generated by directly modulated laser diodes with over four times extension of transmission distance.
