Tunable Residual Dispersion Compensator using Generalized MZIs in Silicon-on-Insulator

Abstract

A filter using generalized MZIs for tunable residual dispersion compensation is presented. The design, the silicon photonic realization and its characterization are presented. The device can compensate up to ±180ps/nm of residual chromatic dispersion.
