Fast Feed-Forward Polarization Tracking in a DP-mPSK Coherent Receiver Employing Blind SOP Estimation

Abstract

Novel feed-forward polarization tracking is proposed using differential detection of the X and Y polarizations. An experiment showed that the proposed method mitigated 2.6 dB penalty caused by 10 MHz polarization rotation for 43G DP-QPSK.
