Silica-based PLC Transponder Aggregators for Colorless, Directionless, and Contentionless ROADM

Abstract

We describe a silica-on-silicon PLC transponder aggregator (TPA) based on splitterswitch architecture. This integrated TPA enables us to realize a colorless, directionless and contentionless multi-degree ROADM cost-effectively with a small footprint.
