Nonlinear Compensation Study for WDM Transmission using Multi-Level Modulation over Transoceanic Distance

Abstract

WDM Transmission using PDM-8QAM-OFDM and PDM-16QAM-OFDM modulations over 10,181km and 4,242km are successfully demonstrated. Up to 0.5dB Q-factor improvement can be achieved from nonlinearity compensation for self-phase modulation (SPM) using back-propagation method.
