Reduction of Crosstalk by Hole-Walled Multi-Core Fibers

Abstract

Hole-walled multi-core fibers (HW-MCFs) are proposed to reduce the crosstalk with arrayed holes walling. We have fabricated a HW-MCF with an effective area larger than 130 μm2 and crosstalk of less than −30 dB/100 km.
