Timing Jitter of SOA-amplified intensity modulated optical pulses

Abstract

The origin of timing jitter during SOA amplification of ps-long intensity modulated pulses is identified. Both experimental and analytical theoretical jitter results are presented, revealing an almost linear relationship between jitter and pulse intensity modulation.
