Comparison of Optical Fiber Types for All-Raman Systems

Abstract

We experimentally explore several optical fibers for all-Raman systems. We find that while NZ-DSF with small Aeff may require slightly smaller pump power, its OSNR disadvantage is approximately 5 dB compared to ultra-low loss fibers.
