28-Gbaud InP Square or Hexagonal 16-QAM Modulator

Abstract

We demonstrate a monolithic InP modulator that produces 28-Gbaud (112 Gb/s) square or hexagonal 16-QAM using four integrated amplitude/phase modulators. We achieve bit-error rates of 2.7×10−3 and 3.8×10−3, respectively.
