Characterization of strongly spun fibers with spin rate exceeding OFDR spatial resolution

Abstract

We describe an OFDR-based procedure to measure the spin of optical fibers with spin rates exceeding OFDR resolution. Fibers are twisted to locally unwind the spin and measurements are afterward reassembled with optimal fitting.
