Novel Integrated Coherent Receiver Module for 100G Serial Transmission

Abstract

A novel coherent receiver module is presented, comprising two optical 90°-hybrids monolithically integrated with eight waveguide pin-photodiodes in balanced configuration. Superior optical performance is demonstrated in a 28 Gbaud NRZ-QPSK 150 km SMF transmission experiment.
