A Broadband Ultra-low Loss All-solid Photonic Bandgap Fiber

Abstract

We describe the fabrication and characteristic of an all-solid photonic bandgap fiber with loss as low as 0.41dB/km at 1550nm within the first-order bandgap. The control of bandgaps, dispersion and bend characteristic has been investigated.
