Characterization of a MEMS Based Optical System for Free-Space Board-to-Board Optical Interconnects

Abstract

We demonstrate alignment of an array of VCSELs to detectors, using a MEMS-based lens system for free-space board-to-board optical interconnects. Our optical system is capable of aligning up to 5 degrees of freedom.
