Pseudo-Newton based Equalization Algorithms for QAM Coherent Optical Systems

Abstract

In 112Gbit/s optical coherent transmission context, we propose decision-directed and blind adaptive equalizers using variable step size suitable for 16-QAM. The considered algorithms offer better steady state performance and convergence speed than standard adaptive equalizers.
