Abstract

A series of technologies burst-mode amplification are described. We optimize EDFA design to establish transient-suppressed EDFA (TS-EDFA) and discuss two scenarios of burst-mode amplification in WDM environment. We also investigate supplementary transient-suppression with optical-feedback.
