Experimental Demonstration on the Reduction of Linewidth Impact in a Self-Heterodyne Optical OFDM System

Abstract

We show experimentally that the signal quality of a self-heterodyne optical OFDM system can be improved by temporally realigning the carrier with the subcarriers before photodetection. This can be explained by self-heterodyne linewidth measurement theory.
