Low Sample Rate Transmitter for Direct-Detection Optical OFDM

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate a novel colorless transmitter for direct-detection optical OFDM that requires lower sample-rate DACs than previous designs, without RF mixers. We transmit 24-Gbit/s over 800-km SSMF using two 10 GS/s DACs.
