Abstract

A tapered-3D-hollow-waveguide Bragg-reflector has been proposed exhibiting a giant-birefringence of 0.01 and an 8.5-psec tuning in differential-group-delay for 3-mm-long compact devices, which can be used for adjustable compensation of polarization-mode-dispersion in optical-fiber-links.
