Femtosecond Pulses with Tunable, High Repetition Rate Generated from a CW Laser without Mode-Locking

Abstract

436-fs pulses are generated by injecting a 33-ps pulse train, obtained from pulse carving a 1.55-μm CW DFB laser, into a time-lens loop. Largely-tunable repetition rate from 23 MHz to 400 MHz is demonstrated.
