Impact of Burst Header Length in the Performance of a 10 Gb/s Digital Burst Mode Receiver

Abstract

We show that the burst header length must be greater than 64 bits to ensure that the PER is better than 10−2 over the entire 7dB burst to burst dynamic range of the digital burst mode receiver.
