On-Chip 90° Polarization Rotator using Wave Coupling through an Intermediate, Multimode, Uniform Waveguide

Abstract

We propose an ultra-short broadband 90o polarization rotator using wave coupling through a multimode waveguide. A 21-p.m conversion length is achieved with 17 dB extinction ratio.
