Novel Ultra-Wideband Photonic Signal Generation and Transmission Featuring Digital Signal Processing Bit Error Rate Measurements

Abstract

We propose the novel generation of photonic ultra-wideband signals using an uncooled DFB laser. For the first time we experimentally demonstrate bit-for-bit DSP BER measurements for transmission of a 781.25Mbit/s photonic UWB signal.
