Lightwave Centralized WDM-OFDM-PON Network Employing Cost-effective Directly Modulated Laser

Abstract

We propose and experimentally demonstrate the first lightwave-centralized WDM-OFDM-PON using cost-effective directly modulated lasers (DML) to generate downstream OFDM QPSK signals at 10Gb/s and provide upstream OOK signals using a remodulating scheme at 2.5Gb/s.
