Integer Programming Assisted Optimization of Optical Design for Transparent WDM Networks

Abstract

We propose a novel optical design method assisted by integer programming and column generation technologies considering optical characteristics and optical paths distribution in mesh WDM networks. Trial designs showed 14 % cost reduction.
