Converged fixed and radio-over-fiber link employing optical envelope detection and optically injected DFB laser

Abstract

We present 2.5 Gb/s all-optical RF signal down-conversion from 20 GHz by exploiting an optically-injected DFB. We demonstrate converged transmission of this signal with a baseband PON over a common 70 km fiber link.
