Abstract

Phase-sensitive detection and maximum-phase design provide optimum sensitivity for sensors employing infinite impulse response filters. Practical tradeoffs in the modulation frequency are discussed, and the maximum-phase condition is shown to be advantageous over critically-coupled designs.
