Visible Wavelength Emission in the Silica Glass Fiber Doped with Silicon Nano-particles

Abstract

We report realization of a novel optical fiber incorporated with Si nano-particles and its emission in the visible wavelength upon pumping at 512nm. Enhancement in 1550nm emission of the Si/Er3+ co-doped fiber was also found.
