Abstract

A hybrid silicon evanescent amplifier utilizing a wafer bonded structure of a silicon waveguide and AlGaInAs quantum wells is demonstrated. Maximum chip gain obtained is 13 dB with a 3 dB output saturation power of 11dBm.
