All-Optical Signal Reshaping of a 40 Gb/s RZ Signal by Dual-Stage Pump Modulated Four-Wave–Mixing

Abstract

All-optical signal reshaping is demonstrated with a 40 Gb/s RZ signal by using two cascaded pump modulated four-wave-mixing processes. A 5 dB improvement in the receiver sensitivity is reported for a degraded signal input.
