Inline Cryogenic Temperature Sensor Based on the Excitation of Localized Plasmonic Oscillations in Metallic Nanoparticles Embedded into Photonic Crystal Fibers

Abstract

We describe the operation of an inline temperature sensor based on the inclusion of metallic nanoparticles into a photonic crystal fiber. A robust sensing platform for spectroscopy and optical switching applications can be designed.
